About me

A passionate journey spanning over 20 years

My psychology education started in the year 2000 when I decided to do an Access Course in Psychology. After this I acquired my undergraduate degree in BSc Psychology at University College London. Since then, I attained post graduate certificates and diplomas in Counselling Psychology, Psychological Wellbeing (CBT based) and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT). After taking a career break to have a family, I have worked in the NHS now for the last 8 years using the skills and knowledge I gained above.

Aside from my academic pursuits, I am a keen advocate for therapy and mental health awareness.

I have personally found therapy very helpful for my own self-development and wellbeing. Having had my own therapy enables me to offer a deeper level of reflection and understanding that I may not otherwise have. Admitting to having therapy is not something many therapists are willing to do. However, after much research, I have found that clients really appreciate knowing that their therapist has had therapy too. This can be very normalising and help toward reducing the stigma around mental health.

In my journey, I have also discovered that therapy is not always for when things get difficult. It can also be utilised for self development and aid personal growth in different areas of one's life. This could be occupational, like wanting to focus on your career and improving your financial situation. It could be about dating and understanding your dating and relationship patterns or embarking on a new adventure. I would love to hear what therapy would mean for you.
